Outfitter Guide School

Are you looking to get into hunting and guiding and looking for hunt guide training? Or looking for a refresher course? We have a comprehensive one-week outfitter guide school that will teach you all the skills you need to get started as a guide with hands on hunt guide training. Our outfitter guide school takes place in the summer to give you time to put your new skills into practice with hands on experience in the wilderness with our ecotour trips before diving into the hunt season in September.

As well as our outfitter guide school, specifically tailored to hunt guide training, we have a variety of other wilderness training programs for you to develop your skills:

Horseback Guide Training (one or two weeks)
Fishing Guide Training (one week)
Log Cabin Building Training (one week)
Horse Logging Training (one week)
Bushcraft and Survival Training (one week)

All of these training programs can be paired with our Wilderness Lifestyle Experience (below) so you can gain more experience.

Wilderness Lifestyle Experience

We accept motivated, purpose-driven students year round who want to gain valuable experience in the hunt and wilderness lifestyle. Our Wilderness Lifestyle Experience gives you the opportunity to get involved in more than just guiding and can be paired with our outfitter guide school or any of our other training programs. As a student, you will gain experience in all aspects of the business including:

Horseback riding in the mountains
Wildlife tracking
Equipment operating
Chainsaw training
Horse shoeing
Horse care, saddling and packing
Marketing and taking bookings in the office
Preparing meals for hunters and other guests
Housekeeping of our lodge and guest cabins
Outside maintenance of our ranch property
Management and entrepreneur opportunities in all departments

Online Training Programs

If you’re not able to join us in person yet or not sure if working in the wilderness is for you, you can get a head start with our online training programs. These comprehensive programs will help you develop the skills to live and work in the wilderness, skills that you can refine in person when you can join us at the ranch. We have online training programs that include:
